Drum Roll Please

I have been working on my publishing schedule and boy are the next two months busy busy busy. It looks like I will be able to publish DARK CORNERS on drum roll please...... June 10! Yay!!!

I should have the cover to show you guys this week and then I will work on my Goodreads author page as well as my Facebook author page. This is really happening and getting so close I can feel its breath on my neck. I am equal parts excited and terrified and it is exhilarating. I can't wait for everyone to be able to read my book. *hugs*

Also as I mentioned Monday I have some more new and exciting news coming up, but I am not at liberty to discuss it just yet. Let me just say it will involve some $10 gift certificate giveaways, lots of fun, and is brought to you, in part, by the number four.

Thirty Day Song Challenge Day 08 - A song that you know all the words to... Bad bad Leroy Brown- Jim Croce

Okay, so I'm a new follower, and I haven't had time, yet, to look back through your previous posts. Are you self publishing?

Andrew, thanks for following! Yes I am planning on self-publishing. I have done a lot of research on it and I think it will be the right for me.

What route are you going? I've done the same thing, although it feels more like I'm just stumbling through it. It sounds like you've put more planning into it than I did.

Woohoo! Congrats Liz. I can't wait to buy it.

Well the way I see all of this is marketing your book is key. Whether or not you self-publish you still have to do the legwork for your book because no one else is going to do it which is why I am self-publishing. If I am going to put all of this time and effort into selling my book I would rather have more of the profit from it.
As far as marketing goes I have been using facebook and twitter to make some really good connections and I plan in the coming weeks to make a more concentrated effort on Goodreads and the kindleboards. Not a buy my book push but actually participating in the conversations and getting to know people so they have a more vested interest in me. Then once it is published I will set up some blog tours and get as many book bloggers to review the book as I can while maintaining all the social network sites. Host giveaways, things like that to draw attention.

Happy to hear about your release date...I can't wait to read it!!! I wanted to release mine in July but decided to wait until I am done with the first draft of book 2 so, now I am looking at Sept. Plus I decided to write "Zander and Jovie" (not the book name) next, I think it would do good as a YA novel. I was wondering when you would publish since you have 3 and 1/2 books writen already!!!! Congrats on the release date.

Liz, that's great that you're getting closer and closer to your book coming out. I'm getting there myself and know exactly what you mean about it being both exciting and terrifying. Overall though, it's a fantastic feeling.

P.S. - Cool that you posted Jim Croce! My father actually hung out and had some beers with him a few times and said he was a really nice guy. A great talent who died way too young!

Buddy, that is so cool about your dad and Jim Croce. I was raised listening to his music. I know the words to all of his songs. I love them all. I don't meet many people anymore who even know who he is.
You don't talk much about your book. What is it called? What genre?

I still haven't settled on a title for it, but it's a comic mystery. Right now it's very twisted. I'm going to have to do some serious editing so that people don't think I'm insane.

I love Jim Croce. My mom has him on vinyl. At least, I hope she still has those. Jim Croce was one of the regulars floating around the walls of my house as kid.

I'm excited to see what you have going on! I may be self-publishing a novel later this year too...
