Fearless Follow Friday Fun

Writer Follow Friday Blog Hop!

This week's featured author is Nicole Chase check her out!

Inspired by the spectacular melt down of Jacqueline Howett on Big Al’s Book Blog, how do you deal with a bad review?

I honestly haven't had any reviews yet (only critiques), but I imagine I will deal with it the same way I deal with anything I find unpleasant, ignore it until it goes away. Flying off the handle is ALWAYS a bad idea. Hell, we can't win them all and at least someone is talking about your book even if they don't like it so that alone should make you happy. Am I wrong? I think Ms. Howett would have done best not to say anything at all and just walk away. In  my opinion the reviewer was doing her a favor by even reviewing her work.
I will let you know how I respond definitively after my first bad review. Eek!

How do you join in the fun? So glad you asked. It’s really quite simple.

Copy and paste these rules to your blog (they’re a little different than mine and designed to help your blog)
The rules

Hey, good to "see" you on the Blog Hop and you are absolutely right, at least someone was talking about her book. But, if you'd skimmed through the comments where she melted down (oh Lordy! F bombs were involved...), I sure as @#$% would not want to be noticed/remembered that way. Most of those posting promised they'd never read her stuff either. *sigh* I'll post more on my blog--see ya there! BTW, I kind of like "Wonderland" (note I didn't mention He Who Shall Remain Nameless), but it's not my fave.

I agree. I would never want to do what she did. I think she should have just been happy he reviewed her book and not said a word about it.

I don't think I'd ever want my book linked with "Man did you hear about the angry author who went pyscho?" That stuff sticks, people will use it as an example and when she releases new stuff, not sure if people will read it. Honestly, as a reviewer, I don't think I would because who really needs that drama and stress? Sure you'll become infamous as the blogger involved but I'd rather have that infamy for the fun I have on my blog LOL I don't know.. I wrote more on my writer's page for this hop. See you there if you'd like to visit.

*That* is what I'm talkin' about. Personally, I don't feel Ms. Howett even received a bad review. I thought Big Al was very fair. You wouldn't think so to hear her tell it, but I'd have been HAPPY with a review like that!

Most folks would do well to walk away. I agree. A review is one person's opinion. When like-minded opinions pile up now that's when one needs to worry. Thanks for the follow. I'm following now too after a brutal day of design. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
